Lets Talk Paleo

About:

The Paleo Diet (a.k.a Paleo lithic) mimics the types of foods that were eaten during the paleolithic time period.  The foods were high in beneficial nutrients such as soluble fiber, antioxidant vitamins, omega-3s etc. Nowadays our society is filled with refined sugars and grains, saturated fats & trans fats, processed foods. All of that stuff causes weight gain, diabetes, cancers and other health problems.

The Paleo Diet is all about fruit, veggies, lean meats, fish, nuts & berries. It is not a calorie counting diet…even using the word ‘diet’ is not good. Paleo is a lifestyle choice. The whole point of it is really going back to the basics.  Eating fresh and healthy! Foods today are filled with different ingredients to keep it staying on the shelf longer. Think about that…do you really want something that was scientifically created to stay on a shelf longer in your body? I think not!

In my humble opinion I believe that because of the huge processed food industry that is where our crazy diseases are popping out of the wood works. Also, having a paleo lifestyle is not only healthy but you can lose weight! I know..go figure!

Health Benefits: (to name a few…)

  • It Reduces Bloat – you are not eating all that processed crap that is out there these days! So all that sodium and what not that is in food is not going in your body because you are eating fresh and clean!
  • Healthy Fats – Eating nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil, olives, fish oil and grass-fed meat are so healthy for you and rich in Monounsaturated and Omega-3 fats.  Did you know that by eating this it can dramatically reduce the instances of obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and cognitive decline.  Pretty Awesome in my book!
  • Lose Weight – this one in my opinion is the obvious. When one is eating all fruits, veggies and lean proteins they are bound to lose weight! Protein is really the key to losing anything as it revs up your metabolism and speeds up weight loss.
  • Balanced Energy Throughout the Day – when you are eating fresh and healthy foods that you body needs you will see a huge difference in your energy level.
  • Low-Glycemic Index – it will cause slow and very few rises in your blood sugar and insulin levels.
