I think all of us hear losing weight is key to a happy life….well lets be honest. ALL THE TIME. What does it mean though? Do I need to obsess over food? Obsess over when I got my workout in? Why is weightless such a THING these days??? For me, it has always been a thing in my life. Either i was dancing, running or just moving in some fashion. Most of jobs (Until now) have been on my feet whether it was being a waitress, catering job, Disneyland etc. I have always been an active person. Food actually was my enemy for awhile but that is for another post! I don’t want to get sidetracked here! Ha ha!
So moving on…today I would like to talk about the psychology of physical fitness. Why is fitness so important in our life? Why does everyone say we should workout?? I know for me..I don’t always WANT to workout. Sometimes laziness can definitely take hold of me! Who is with me on that one? BUT once you are in a nice routine having some kind of workout daily can be tremendously peaceful and relaxing!
I am the type of person that wants to know WHY i should do something…why should I eat healthy? Why Should i workout? Why should I choose this product over that product? I am a big fan of doing research and learning about health benefits…so naturally I did the same thing with exercise. Yes we all know it aides in Weight loss along with getting lean or bulk..but what else DOES exercise really do for us?
Working Out helps relieve stress as well as help with depression..why you ask? Well, working out releases those wonderful endorphins causing happiness to pour right out of us! So the best thing for you to do next time you are feeling anxious, depressed or stressed is to go get your sweat on! It is the #1 thing that will help your mind ease out.
Working out ALSO helps you rest better! Who here has insomnia?? Well a study was done that showed people who got more exercise in throughout the week slept better through the night and also felt more alert during the day! Check it out right here
The one thing I have found that working out has helped for me is finding peace of mind. With all the stuff going on in my life – having that 30 mins of ME time has made a huge impact on my life and my wellbeing. It has caused me to want to eat healthier (because then I feel better DURING my workout), drink less wine/spirits and also want to get out and DO MORE in general. I have noticed that I have become happier in my day to day life and have wanted to socialize more than I used too. It really is a huge WIN WIN!
So decide to make the change today and start adding in some awesome workouts to make your days go by better than before!
